AVALANCHE, MAY, 2004

Birds sighted: Cardinals & rosebreasted grosbeaks dominate the feeder and are pecking at every window. First whippoorwill called in our valley in four years.

Insects: At long last, the Asian beetles have subsided (false lady bugs). First lightening bug. Ticks: deer & wood.

Loom progress: Linen for new sheer partition and native bluestem weaves going on the big barn loom

My mother, Irene Johnson, and I leave for Sweden and Finland on June 24. We will be looking for weavers, our family, and all the sights we can see. We hope to set foot inside the Arctic Circle and let the midight sun shine down on us. We each have a new pair of eyeglasses. We return on July 16th.

The store and weaving workshop are open during this time Wed - Sat 10 - 5. No Sundays.
