MAY 2007

If it's May it must be morels! While we were out hunting in our secret places, I saw something I've seen before, but not in our woods.

Bear poop. Three occurrences. You'll have to take my word for it, since, I won't post a picture. This is our first clue that there are bears in our woods.

I told Carl. He said some girls at the after Prom Party at the Nordic Lanes were showing pictures of a bear & her cub that were wandering around town on Prom night. I wish I could post a picture of prom gowns and bears running by.

Wood Pile

fig. 1 raw, fresh mushrooms

Oil, salt & pepper a roasting pan. Cut mushrooms in half, rinse if necessary, and roast until brown and savory. Freeze or place on a plate in the refrigerator to use in or on anything.
