Jean is my good friend and neighbor. We share a line fence. Each fall, Jean knits a new pair of fancy mittens. She has a great eye for color, and besides knitting, often surprises me. This rug reminds me of her.
Handwoven, hand-dyed wool rag rug with twisted fringe. This rug has been
washed and dried to finish and is supple and soft, and nearly felted.
Rag wool textiles are weighty enough for floor use, but soft enough for furniture or wall coverings. Scandinavians used rag weaves in all three applications.
